Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques to cook at home on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied following her graduation with an English degree as well as a communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. I couldn't learn enough couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. While in Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. As a speaker, she makes trips across the country to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion for life with people.
